Painting over photos

I really enjoy the cloning abilities of painter...it seems to give the power I need via the brush engine and it handled pretty well.

the reason I like it is probably because I like impressionism so much. when I do my digitally *realistic* illustrations, I try to respect that line...I do like to increase the detail in the focal point of the portrait.
the first two are of my friend Tito:

The photo was taken with a flash and low exposure...but the photo still gave me the data necessary for the brushwork...I also made the brushes myself in painter.

the next two images were generated from 640x480 webcam pictures...its my friend Andrea (costa rica)

never to late to start a blog

Hi, I am Adekoyote and this is my blog....It has been a long time coming, but it is necessary I suppose...I don't like the direction facebook is taking...for art and design...its probably better to focus on getting my artwork up here.

I love artistic expression...I love enjoying other people's work...and awhile ago I realized something about myself...I am a strange extrovert...in a creative sense...I tend to take what my senses absorb around me and I boost the frequency and amplitude by using their work as a point of insipiration or a departure point.

I have to accept that part of me doesn't believe so much in orginality...I am too used to seeing the same story all the time...and so I don't see my work as too cutting edge...I get some of my inspiration from reference...but I get most of my satisfaction from filling a brief or feeding into an idea.

With this I can enjoy a wider reach in the styles I can achieve.

Life is good and I have been blessed with many opportunities.
